FARQUHAR, Janice Irene.   Unexpectedly at her home on 1stApril, 2019; aged 72 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Peter, much loved and special mother and mother-in-law of Julie and Tony Roy, Sandra and Tom, Kerri and Mark Field, and the late Lynda, treasured Nannie  of Tegan, Hayley, Connor, Kadys, Jade, Riley, Flynn, Alex, Erin, and Brae.   A farewell service for Janice will be held on Monday, April 8th at 1.30 p.m. in our Chapel, 12 James Street, Balclutha, followed by a private family interment.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Balclutha St John Ambulance     would be appreciated and may be left at Janice’s service.  Messages to 32 McNeil Street, Balclutha 9230
SMITH, Karen Jane (nee Carson); After a courageous battle, Karen passed away at Holmdene Rest Home, Balclutha on April 2nd, 2019 surround by her loving family; aged 64 years.  Much loved wife of the late Brian, a loved and cherished mother and mother-in-law of Tania and Shane McLevie, Mark and Jolz, David and Emma and a precious nana and great-nana of Kaylin, and Zoe; Tiana, Kyerah, Cy, Riria, and Swade; Aiden, and Ellie.  A service of farewell for Karen will be held on Tuesday, April 9th at 11 am in the Tokomairiro Co-Operating Parish, Union Street, Milton, then leaving for the Fairfax Cemetery. ANDREWS, Hazel Lorraine, (nee Murray). 20.09.1945 – 06.04.2019.
Beloved daughter of the late George and Ruby Murray, much loved mother and mother-in-law of Tony and Rachel, Colleen and Tom, Choc and Jenny, Brian and Carmen and a cherished Nana of her 10 grandchildren and GG to her 4 great-grandchildren. “Nothing loved is ever lost and she was loved so much”. Now at peace.   At Hazel’s request, a private cremation has been held. A memorial service for Hazel will be held on Friday, 12th April in the Kaka Point Hall at 1pm to share memories. CARR, Russel John. Suddenly, at his home on April 13th, 2019; aged 69 years.  Treasured husband of Jenny, a much loved and respected son-in-law of Barbara and the late Reg Freeman, a loved and respected brother-in-law of Gwen and the late Tony Hart (Balclutha), Lorraine and Ken Carr (Balclutha), Margaret Holden and Neville Gunn (Roxburgh), Raymond and Liz Freeman (Balclutha), Neville Holden (Roxburgh),  and Owen Frew (Milton).  “Forever loved – forever missed”. 
A service to farewell Russell will be held on Thursday, April 18th, 2019 at 1.30 pm in our Chapel, 12 James Street, Balclutha, then leaving for the Balclutha Lawn Cemetery. Messages to 73 Gormack Street, Balclutha 9230.
GENT, Desmond Bruce (Des). Tragically, as a result of an accident on Friday April 12th, 2019; aged 67 years.  Dearly loved husband of the late Geraldine, a much-loved father and father-in-law of Sylvia Johnson, Jenny and John Robbie, a loved Grandad of Carlos; Matthew, and Hannah. Loved son of the late Bruce and Ruby Gent, brother of Hughena, Rebecca, David, Susan and Shane.  A service to farewell Des will be held on Wednesday, April 24th, 2019 at 1.30 pm in our Chapel, 12 James Street, Balclutha, followed by private cremation. GRAY, John Norman. Norman passed away peacefully on Good Friday, 19thApril, 2019 at Clutha Views Lifecare; in his 93rd year. Dearly loved husband of Alison, much loved father and father-in-law of Jackie and Greg Ryder (Dunedin), Alastair and Raewyn (Balclutha), Lynda and Cam Dykes (Alexandra), loved Grandad of Seamus, Pheobe, and Finn; Alton, Reuben, and Maxine; Madeline, Angus, and Duncan.  A service to celebrate Norman’s life will be held on Wednesday, 24th April at 1.30pm in St Andrews Presbyterian Church, Clyde Street, Balclutha, followed by a private cremation. THOMAS, Graeme Charles. Graeme passed away peacefully on 20th April, 2019 at his home in Balclutha; aged 73 years. Loving husband of Yvonne, much loved father of Jackie, Karen, Sharon, Louise, Nicky, and Donald, cherished Grandad of Logan, and Liam, and a special friend of Johno.  A private cremation has been held and a memorial service for Graeme will be held on Saturday 27th April at 11am in the South Otago Town and Country Club, Yarmouth Street, Balclutha. GREENFEILD, Peter Francis. On 20th April,2019 at Dunedin Hospital. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Maree and David Thomson (Mosgiel), Sandy and Craig Hennessy (Balclutha), and loved Grandad of Philip Thomson. Loved brother and brother in law of Joy and the late Les Gardyne, Gavin and Liz Greenfield, the late Ronald Greenfield, and a loved uncle of his nieces and nephews.  A service to celebrate Peter’s life will be held in our Chapel, 12 James Street, Balclutha on Monday 29th April at 1pm, followed by a private cremation. BUDGE, Allan Robert.  On 21 April 2019 suddenly at his home in Balclutha, dearly loved husband of Lesley, loved father and father-in-law of Andrew and Trish, Judy Moodie and *Moose and *Paul, Susan and Brent Cunningham, Graeme and Lisa and a treasured grandad of Elliott, Emily; and Jack (*denotes deceased).  At Allan’s request a private cremation has been held and a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday 27 April at 11am in our Chapel, 12 James Street, Balclutha.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Balclutha St John Ambulance would be appreciated and may be left at his service.
GOATLEY, Peter Marshall.  Passed away peacefully on 21 April 2019 at Dunedin Hospital.  "At home with his Lord".  Aged 77 years.  Loved husband of the late Evadne, loved youngest brother of *Margaret and *Charlie Chirnside, Mary and *Gordon and *Fern Rogerson, Robert and *Frances, Paul & Lois, *John and Dorothy, Joe and Helen, *Ben and *Helen, Jim and Mildred, (*denotes deceased) and a loved uncle of all his nieces and nephews.  A service for Peter will be held on Friday 26th April, at 1.30pm in our Chapel, 12 James Street, Balclutha, then leaving for the Balclutha Lawn Cemetery. HORE, Lynette Marie (Lyn) (nee Brock).  On May 1st, 2019 at Clutha Health First, surrounded by her loving family; aged 66 years.  Loved wife of Bruce, loved mother and mother-in-law of Tim and Tracy, *Steven, Gareth and Lisa and a beloved and adored Nana of Ella, Jacob, and Fletcher (* denotes deceased).  A service to farewell Lyn will be held on Monday, May 6th at 1:30pm at our Chapel, 12 James Street, Balclutha, followed by a private family interment.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the NZ Cancer Society would be appreciated and may be left at Lyn’s service. HARGREAVES, Alma Rose (nee McCorkindale).  On May 7th 2019 at Dunedin Hospital, after a brief illness; in her 93rd year.  Loved wife of the late Derek, much loved and cherished mother, mother-in-law and Nana of Stella and Nigel, Elese and Liam, Nadia, and Shayna Lloyd; Fulton and Lyndall, Holly, Renee, and Anna Hargreaves.   At Alma’s request, a private service has been held. The Hargreaves family would like to sincerely thank the nursing staff and doctors of Ward 3, Dunedin Hospital for all their exceptional care of Alma over the past 12 days.  Messages to 76 Spenser Street, Milton 9220. 
SINCLAIR, John Duncan Peter;   Peacefully, on 9thMay, 2019 at Dunedin Hospice; aged 79 years.   Dearly loved husband and best friend of Phyllis, much loved father of Brenda, and David, a dear friend of Theresa Sinclair, and David Higgins, cherished Grandad of Angus and Marie, Anton, Adam, and Aiden; Shelley, and Jacob; much loved great Grandad of Cyrus, and Harlow. Loved son of the late Jack and Margaret Sinclair (late of Glendhu Station, Lawrence), loved brother of Kay, Judy, and Pat and their families, loved brother in law of Jean and Ernie McCraw, Madeline and Barry Muldrew and their families. R.I.P.  A Requiem Mass to celebrate John’s life will be held on Wednesday, May15th at 1.30pm in St Patrick’s Catholic Church, Colonsay Street, Lawrence, then leaving for the Lawrence Cemetery. MILLS, Valerie Elizabeth Jean (Val); On Sunday the 12th May, 2019, peacefully at Dunedin Hospital;  in her 89th year.  Loved wife of the late Stan, loved mum and mum-in-law of Judy Stewart (Christchurch), and Jan and Lachie Campbell (Balclutha), loved Nan Val of Kerry and Gina Hunter (Blenheim), Donna and Nigel Smith (Dunedin), Holly Campbell (Dunedin), and Meeghan Campbell (Wellington), great Grandmother of Caitlyn, Meisha, Hannah, and Caden. A huge thank you to the lovely staff on Ward 6C at Dunedin Hospital for their wonderful care of Mum in her final days.  Special thanks also to the caregivers at Holmdene for their care of Val over the years.   A service of farewell for Val will be held on Friday 17th May, at 1.30pm in the Balclutha Fire Station, 24 Charlotte Street, then leaving for the Balclutha lawn cemetery. McFELIN, Kelly Jane. In her 41st year. On 12 May 2019 peacefully in her sleep in the care of the Otago Community Hospice,  loved and cherished wife of Steven, adored mum of Daymon, Ethyn, Wyatt, Rory and Ajay.  A service for Kelly will be held on Friday 17 May at 1.30pm in our Chapel, 12 James Street, Balclutha, followed by a private cremation.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Otago Community Hospice would be appreciated and may be left at her service.  Messages to 37 Harwich Street, Balclutha 9230. 
MacKENZIE, Alice Shirley (Shirley) (nee Bennett); Unexpectedly, on 9thMay, 2019 at home on the farm doing what she loved; in her 84th year. Dearly loved wife and best friend of the late Ken, much loved and respected mother and mother-in-law of Jocelyn and Bruce Stewart (Greymouth), Lyn and Murray Wilkinson (Kaka Point), Doug and Annie (Alexandra), Vicki Dodds (Adelaide), loved mother-in-law of Gillian (Earnscleugh), much loved Grandma of Rebekah, Kenneth, and Joseph; Karen, Glenn and Fiona, Hayley and Brendon; Kelly and Sam, Jamie and Matt; Bradley and Bec, Kelsi and Mick, and  Taylor and great grandma of Flynn, and Jontee Hyndman; Jay, Max, and Arlo Wilkinson; Carlin, Nathaniel, and Kaitlyn Driver; and Sophia Dodds.
