EVANS, Michael John (Mike).  8.8.1950 – 29.7.2017.  Passed away suddenly at home, dearly loved husband of Maxine, loved father and father-in-law of Matt and Kylie, Kate and Elianderson, Bryony and Bryce, and a cherished grandad of Danielle, Amber, Jaxon, Blake; Emilia, Hannah; and Quade.  A service for Mike will be held on Thursday, 3rd August at 1.30 p.m. in our Chapel, 12 James Street, Balclutha, followed by a private cremation.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson Society would be appreciated and may be left at his service. TUNNAH, Elizabeth Jane (Betty, nee Frew) formally of Milton; in her 83rd year. On 2nd August, 2017 at Mossbrae Healthcare, Mosgiel. Dearly loved wife of the late Bill, much loved mother and mother in law of David and Judith (Mosgiel), Stephen and Jan (Milton), Lyall and Jackie, Martin and Jacqui (McKay, Australia) and a cherished Nana of Glenn and Angela, Alana, and Scott; Jayden, and Kayla; Nathan and Nikki, Zania and Dennis, adored Great Nana of Ryan, Oliver, Kyle, Brooke, Ben, Max, Mea, and Jacobi.  A service of farewell for Betty will be held on Monday 7th August, at 1.30pm in our Chapel, 12 James Street, Balclutha, followed by a private cremation. DAVIDSON, Harold Birley; aged 87 years. Harold passed away peacefully on 3rdAugust, 2017 at Clutha Views Lifecare. Dearly loved husband of Gladys, much loved father and father in law of Mary and the late Snow Hellyer (Dunedin), Rose Ukich and Dave Broadway (Arrowtown), Joan and John Bisset (Kaka Point), Karen and Pete Connor (Dunedin), Jill and Les Crossan (Timaru), and a cherished Grandad of his 9 grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.  A service for Harold will be held on Monday 7th August at 11.30am in St Andrews Presbyterian Church, Clyde Street, Balclutha, then leaving for the Balclutha lawn cemetery. WRIGHT, Doris June (June) formally of Kaitangata; aged 86 years. Peacefully on 4th August, 2017 at Clutha Views Lifecare, Balclutha. Dearly loved wife and companion of Lindsay, much loved mother and mother in law of Myrlene and Trevor, Terry and Mary, adored Nana of Kirsty and Mika, Ross and Nicole, and Great Grandma of Blaze, and Shia.  The family wish to thank Sharron and the staff at Clutha Views for their wonderful care of June.   A service for June will be held on Wednesday,9thAugust  at 1.30pm in our Chapel, 12 James Street, Balclutha, followed by a private cremation.  In lieu of flowers donations to Clutha Views Lifecare Residents Fund would be appreciated and may be left at June’s service. VARCOE, Phyllis Margaret. Peacefully, on August 5th 2017 at Ross Home, Dunedin.  Dearly loved sister of Elma and the late Walter Webster, and a treasured Aunty of Christine and the late Trevor King.  Grateful thanks to all the staff at the Kilgour Ward at Ross Home for their extreme dedication and care of Phyllis. 
A service of celebration for Phyllis will be held on Thursday, August 10th at 2 p.m. in Knox Church, George Street, Dunedin, followed by a private cremation. Messages C/- Mrs. Elma Webster,   3 Argyle Street, Balclutha 9230.
 
PENNELL, Patricia Ann (Pat).  On the 5th August 2017, after a courageous battle, Pat passed away with Rod by her side at the Otago Community Hospital, Dunedin; aged 59 years.  Dearly loved wife of Rod, mother of Shelley, Cory, and Blair, a loved grandmother of all her grandchildren, a loved step-mum, sister, sister-in-law, aunty and friend.  A service for Pat will be held on Friday, August 11th at 1.30 p.m. in the Kaitangata Worship Centre then leaving for the Kaitangata Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Otago Community Hospice would be appreciated and may be left at Pat’s service.  Messages to 3 Thompson Street, Alexandra 9320.  
KEATING, Bernardina Mary (Bern).     29.2.48 – 5.8.17. 
After a short illness. Loved wife and best friend of Dave Keating (Dart), treasured and adored Mum of Ingrid and Ritchie, Bernardine and Fraser, Natalie and Glenn, and the late Stuart. The best Nanny ever to Keely and Kane, Meg, Livi, and Charlotte; Keagan, Caitlin, Brooke, and Ryan; Reilly, Lilly, Molly, Bella and the late Keegan, and a special Nanny Bern too many – not forgetting Jesse, and Charlie her pets.  Everything you are you helped us to be”.
Heartfelt thanks to Bill Roddick and staff at Clutha Health First, Yvonne McFarlane, Debbie Hannah, Martin Berry and the Oncology & Respiratory Dept, Dunedin Hospital, Dr Ruth & the Otago Community Hospice Team.

HALBA, Mavis Grace. On 8thAugust, 2017 at Dunedin Hospital with her family at her side, Mavis passed out of this life one month short of her 93rd birthday.  Dearly loved wife of the late Frank (Bunty), adored mother and mother-in-law of Hilary Halba and Martyn Roberts (Brighton), greatly loved sister and sister-in-law of the late Win and Robin Gibson, the late Ruth and Les Munro, Pat and the late Warren Campbell, Lois Halba, Jeanette Brown, Lavina and the late Peter Halba and a loved aunty of all her nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.  The family will bring Mavis to her home at 69 Johnson Street, Milton on Wednesday evening, 9th August. Please feel free to come to the house and say your private farewell to Mavis, and share a memory of her with the family on Thursday and Friday.   A service of farewell for Mavis will be held on Saturday, 12th August at 10.30am in the Tokomairiro Co-Operating Parish Church, Union Street, Milton, followed by a private cremation. MURRAY, Robert (Bob) (from Milton). On 10thAugust, 2017 at Clutha Health First, Balclutha; in his 95th year.   Dearly loved husband of Blyth, much loved father and father-in-law of Lynne and Lex Adam, Allan and Debra, Barbara and John McDonald, Peter and Debbie, and a much loved Grandad of all his grandchildren and great grandchildren.   A service of farewell for Bob will be held on Tuesday, August 15th at 1.30 p.m. in the Milton Country Club, Union Street, Milton, followed by a private cremation.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Milton St John Ambulance would be appreciated and may be left at Bob’s service. GREENE, Noelene Joyce (nee Anderson) of Kaitangata. Passed away peacefully on Friday, 11th August, 2017 at Clutha Views Lifecare, Balclutha; in her 79th year.  Much loved wife of the late Clive and partner of the late Russell Faddes, dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Sue and Owen McPhee, Graham and Anne, and Barrie, and a loved Grandma of Lauren and Brendon, and Mitchell; Georgia, and Aimee.  Heartfelt thanks to Dr Abraham Visagie and the staff of Clutha Views Lifecare for their compassionate care of Noelene over these last years.   
A service of farewell for Noelene will be held on Thursday 17th August, 2017 at 1.30pm in the Kaitangata Worship Centre, then leaving for the Kaitangata Cemetery. Messages to 10a Ross Street, Balclutha 9230.
 
CROSS, Dorothy Wati (Dot). Tragically, on 13th August ,2017 at her home; aged 22 years. Dearly loved partner of Daniel ,much loved daughter of  Kushma and Neville Cross, cherished sister of Robyn, Janine, Jacqui, Nadia, Aaron, Joseph, the late Matthew, and their partners, loved granddaughter of Puran Singh and Phulmati Glover, the late Dorothy and Howard Cross and cherished niece  of all her aunties  and uncles.  A service for Dot will be held on Monday, 21st August at 1.30pm in the South Otago Town and Country Club, Yarmouth Street, Balclutha, followed by a private cremation.
